French Cockpit Clock Dodane Type 12

French Cockpit clock Type 12- made by Dodane.
In full working order and in good condition.

This is the TYPE 12 which uses a Valjoux 555 movement which is similar to the more common Type 11 but with the addition of the flyback button on the LHS. This resets the 15 minute counting hand and the second hand to 12 clock.
The small pull down lever on the RHS is pulled down to adjust the time.
The central knob is used to stop/start the second hand, to wind the clock and to adjust the time in combination with RHS lever.

The outer bezel rotates. The case is made from metal and glass.

Mounted in a hand made WENGE hardwood mount.
Measures width 7.5 cm, Height 10 cm and depth including buttons to back of mount is 10 cm.

These clocks were made by Dodane, Tissot and Breguet for the French Air Force.
The Valjoux 555 movement parts list is dated 1962 and these clocks were all replaced with quartz in the 80's so likely dates from late 60's to 70's.

Clock has a 2 inch dial. The clock runs for the correct 30 hours on a full wind.

A rare item to find outside of France. Perfect for the desk or sideboard.

The metal is in good condition. There is a small chip on the glass at 11 oclock. The red paint on the time adjust lever is only visible when in down position. These are purely cosmetic and clock functions well.
